Sunday School at Aldersgate

Sunday School is at 10:30 am Sundays, and begins when families gather together in the worship service.
Children are invited to sit with their family for the opening music, prayer time, and Children's Moment, and then are dismissed to Sunday School.

The children's program will have music, game, classroom, and missions component.

Music: on the 1st Sunday of each month, all children who desire to participate will be dismissed from the sanctuary to music time. Song leaders will teach new songs and revisit the old favorites. On occasion, songs will be presented to the church during worship.

The 2nd Sunday of each month during the worship service the children will sing the song prepared the week before. They will then be dismissed to play games, led by older youth.

The 3rd and 4th Sundays, children will be dismissed from worship to their classrooms for traditional Christian Education. Children will meet in three classrooms, Preschool, one Early and one Later Elementary. The curriculum will cover similar themes in each classroom each Sunday, geared toward each age level. For the youngest children, a staffed nursery will be available during classtime.

Missions Projects: on the 5th Sundays of the month, the children will engage in a missions activity such as assembling aid kits or learning of the church's work in other parts of the nation and world.

September 11th -- Rally Day, first day of classes
December 11th -- Christmas Pageant during worship
December 25th and January 1st -- no classes, school vacation
May 20th -- Children's Sunday, last day of classes, End of Year Party

Confirmation Schedule

Meetings are at the Parsonage from 5:00 to 7:00 pm including dinner. Confirmands are permitted only one absence from the nine meetings.
In addition to the once-monthly meetings, Sunday morning worship attendance is expected an average of once per month or more over the year (9 months).

In addition to the standard 2-year Confirmation curriculum, during this year the Confirmands will engage in a service project (to be determined by the group).
